Asante Kotoko sack Head coach Maxwell Konadu
Kumasi Asante Kotoko today parted ways with head coach and former player Maxwell Konadu. Kotoko has managed to pick up just 1 win in this years Ghana premier league.
Maxwell Konadu who has been with the club for almost 12 months and have left the club after a disappointing defeat to Great Olympics.
The club confirmed the decision via a statement on the club’s Twitter handle and Facebook page.
The statement also added that his assistant coach, Johnson Smith would take over as the first-team coach on an interim basis.
Konadu, who won the league with Kotoko in 2012, was re-appointed in December 2019, for a new three year term.
The club has only managed one win in four games this season, but it is the performances, largely uninspiring, that have forced management to act.
The Porcupine Warriors have a busy next 8 days in which they visit Dreams on 20th December, host Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League on December 23, and conclude with a busy schedule with a trip to Medeama on December 27.
