I'M THE ONLY BLACK, I'M THE BEST BLACK, I'M THE FIRST BLACK- The syndrome of the 3B’s
This year 2020 was ushered in with fear and disease pandemic which still puts a lot fear and continues to take too many innocent lives.
COVID-19 in other words “Wuhan virus” as referred to by the president Trump found its way into Africa and further into Ghana. Being an election year this presented an opportunity and a disaster clothed in one; as the successful control would see the ruling government in good taste but the failure would rather bring colossal repercussions not only to the innocent lives but the fortunes of the government politically.
One cannot run away from the economic displacements the novel Covid 19 has caused all over the world. Developing and developed countries have their economies suffering its worst down drive in ages because of the quarantine and isolation control measures.
2020 has also been marred with;
1. The assassination of the Iranian general.
2. A Turkish plane carrying innocent lives blasted from the skies- with excuse of it being mistaken as a military aircraft.
3. Russian government passing a referendum which is likely to see president Putin into power till 2032. Fortunately or rather unfortunately, the referendum process sees the lowest polling turn out signifying the level of unpatriotic nature of citizens as people are simply not interested in the seeming “corrupted nature of government”.
4. Series of attacks on women in South Africa is fast catching the attention of the foreign media as the killings of sisters, mothers and wives is becoming too much and uncontrolled.
5. “Stop raping us” is the hash tag for protests against rampant rape cases spreading in Nigeria.
6. Indian military meets Chinese military on the border in a “no-man’s-land” region where confrontations of bullets and seeming rivalry war is taking place.
7. Hong-Kong protesters arrested for kicking against a bill passed to bring it back under Chinese rule and governance after it being years independent and with stronger ties to UK. This has caused an international stir as it’s a first of its kind.
8. George Floyd murdered in broad day light by racist law enforcers in Minneapolis-America saw the highest number of protest action in the world with many taking to the streets on the mantra of “black lives matter”.
9. Chinese authorities forcefully trying to engage the black community in China on covid-19 related matters also saw a brut resistance leading to China massaging immigration laws to force out “blacks” from the city of Guangzhou and other places.
10. Freedom fighter singer shot dead in broad day light in Ethiopia’s capital – Addis Ababa because the talented artist sings to motivate people against government oppression. Thousands take to the streets to protest against this action.
All this is 8 months!!!
With the international statistics on racial abuse on the rise a critical look should be looked at why the many racist attacks going on?
This is the system I call the 3B’s
· Im the only black
· Im the first black
· Im the best black
This is always the story for the black race. _Im the “only black” to have ever been voted for as an American president, I’m the “first black” to have made an invention; I’m the “best black” neurosurgeon. List goes on and on.
*This is the genesis of mediocrity*
which has sank so deep and still is sinking amongst the black communities and hence since we see ourselves as inferior and need an accomplishment in the “white” dominated environment to make it count, the white supremists also takes advantage to mentally enslave us! Sad truth.
Steadily and eventually the lyrics of Tupac and Bob Marley are eventually being realized and the black man is waking up. My prayer is; we don’t get complacent and eventually die down the enthusiasm at kicking against this 2nd level status being accorded.
This year has presented too many episodes of negative events but what we should be doing as youth is to take advantage of the euphoria, take advantage of the crippling economies and bring more innovative, feasible ideas at bringing things back to normalcy and monetizing it to make the millions that matter.
· Teaming youth can start developing softwares or finding more innovative ways to use social media rather than sharing funny memes and taking too long self-videos and pictures showing social class, dresses and ostentatious inexistent lifestyles (lessons learnt from Hushpuppi- fraud monies have an expiring date)
· Being born in the “computer age” there is a lot of natural computer and internet skills up our shoulders. Ghanaian youth can capitalize on this and find data inputting for companies with too many files and documents which can be digitized to safe space and create an easy database of assessment whiles finding alternatives at profiting from work done.
· 2020 is an election year and political parties are on fire with messages and programs. Dear youth don’t kill yourself for a politician; both sides of the coin all have stronger friendship ties than is always being perceived. Die in the crossfire of action between political parties and realize that your family loses the most and not the party you lost your life for.
· Education and sensitization of even the voter process and registration process can be adopted to better your capacity and person skills.
Work too smart you end up being a fraudster or an intellectual thief at most with the end being not so successful, work too hard and you end up with peanuts of an income; but combine working smart and hard and life is going to smile its fortunes on you.
2020 hasn’t been so forthcoming, but let’s take advantage of this and turn around the woes into fortunes. Let’s see opportunity rather than calamity. The whole world makes way for he who knows where he is going.
2020: The higher the risk the higher the reward!!!
Que Cera Sera, what will be will be!!!

The Youth needs an awakening mentality - GYM President at Homeland Africa Hub Launch
The president of Ghana Youth Movement(GYM) Mr Kobina Amo Aidoo popularly know as MrKobby has cautioned the youth of this country to awake from negative mentality.
MrKobby was Speaking at the launch youth non governmental organization Homeland Africa Hub whose main focus is centered on the youth at the Royal Lamerta hotel in Kumasi.
He said "Mentality, Mentality, Mentality are the three keys things the youth must have critical look at in order to make it in life. We're sitting in a community where we're waiting for a certain government to absorb us into the employment sector and that is the mentality we have, it won't help us."
"It's been ages we've had this mentality and it hasn't helped us in anyway, we can't wait to be absorbed before we get empowered. It simply won't work", he added.
He challenged the youth to start doing better with their lives rather than depending on the structures of the economy. Mind awakening from fraudulent acts, scamming and the new Internet social vices.
He believes the vision of Homeland Africa Hub is a perfect opportunity for the youth to emulate and not having to blame anybody for future misfortune.
The launch of Homeland Africa Hub saw great speakers and notably was Mr Kofi Akpaloo the founder and flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana(LPG) who shared light on the need for the youth to awake and fight for the betterment of themselves and mother Ghana.
The founder and leader of Homeland Africa Hub Mr George W. Baah in his delivery catapulted the fact that the idea behind Homeland Africa Hub is based on how the youth of Africa have neglected our core roots thereby leaving the rich land of ours to be in a mess thereby coming out with the mission "Awaken the youth of Africa to come together to work towards to development of Africa." Homeland Africa Hub is geared towards youth development and youth empowerment.

LOVE LETTER TO EC: THANKS FOR THE COMPETENCE DISPLAY IN THE COMPILATION OF THE NEW VOTERS REGISTER
Dear Jean, I must commend you gravely for the good job done in the compilation of the new voters register amidst all the naysayers, you have displayed utter competence and clinical delivery although there were a few foreseeable hitches.
From day 1 to day 36 across all compilation centers saw a surgical precision in the covid 19 protocols observations and due deligence being adopted by the electoral officers.
Many were the stories and reportage that trickled in, but thanks to social media and diverse angles the main import of the registeration and target was attained.
Issues recorded mainly involved
1. Ghana card brouhaha
2. Fear of Covid 19
3. Apathy amidst others
Hopefully going forward, the process can further be developed and fine-tuned to curtail all these elements. Fortunately or unfortunately the political goggles that sought to spread fear was equally leveled and the process was seen through.
From the said target of 15 million. The total registered was in the region of 16 million.
Now this is a bit delicate and difficult to phantom as the bases for the compilation was a bloated register, but the target to “unbloat” it has also exceeded. Typical case of test of character. THE FUTURE WOES: TO BE OR NOT TO BE IS IN YOUR HANDS. I trust you to make a very well informed decision.
Kudos to all electoral staff
Kudos to all security personnel
Kudos to party officials who assisted the process
Kudos to the you “Madam Jean”
Thankfully the said target to have a clean and new voters register has been reached although the number of *challenged cases* is still alarming.
An observed disaffection in quality of voter identity card was heavily topical in the initial stages but as forgiving of an average Ghanaian, the explanation was accepted. However, the quality of the card I think could have been increased and more security features could have been added as well.
Kindly feel free to engage us at Ghana Youth Movement for concensus building and finding more diverse approaches.
For God and for Ghana
Congratulations

Politics of equality and track record: the media is responsible, not politicians
2020 elections is fast developing into an election of track record between the 2 leading political parties, National Democratic Congress and the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Since the history of Ghana began in 1957 successive governments have come and contributed their own quota to nation building. But as done in every election, one would ask why vote for party X or Party Y. The answer remains very simple; campaign message and track record.
An informed voter bases his/her franchise in one of either of the above mentioned and thereby choosing a party and a presidential candidate.
For the first time in the history of Ghana, 2020 elections presents the most ideal case of solid track record and campaign message as a sitting president- HE Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo is being contested by a former president- HE John Dramani Mahamma.
President JDM was president from 2012-2016 and likewise president NADAA 2016-2020.
Accordingly, these are the thematic areas to decide the elections
1. What did you do during your 4 years
2. How many people felt what you did
3. Giving all growth indices- justify what you did to Ghana when you were given the opportunity
Furthermore, Ghanaians are simply tired of politicians throwing dust into their eyes. The media being the 4th estate realm of governance, should make this analysis devoid of a political spectacle and account to Ghanaians on the real true score and indices of both governments to help the average individual make an informed decision.
Dear media houses
YOU'VE BEEN CHARGED!

Free WASSCE: Prez Akuffo Addo Deserves Praise Not Stupidity - Franklin K
Dear Ghana,
I'm scandalised to see students insult the leadership of Ghana for the WASSCE swerve in Integrated Science paper. Others went on to vandalize school properties and in some schools future slayqueens were leading the charge in the demolition exercise. I can feel the pain of this indomie generation who got supposedly swerved in their free WASSCE Integrated Science paper but who told them that WASSCE is a child's play especially Physics inclusive subject like Integrated Science?
You got free tuition, food, water, air, bording, textbooks, etc and you still want free "apor"? Ebey! We have over pampered these indomie students to the extent that they have developed the ownership mentality - everything must be dashed to them on a silver platter or else riot, vandalism, insults, rape, etc. will be visited on innocent school buildings and properties.
I feel His Excellency President Akuffo Addo deserves praise and not the stupor we're witnessing in our SHSs. But how did we get this low? Did we fail somewhere along the Free SHS architecture? Was the double-track helpful? Did the students get enough contact hours? Was the over crowding in the dorms an issue? Let's investigate these issues and find solutions to them asap.
I feel "cheated" for getting grade "B" in WASSSE Integrated Science as this generation has seen more incentives to do better.
so let our “indomie” students take theirs like that and move on. Better luck in their next paper but don't forget to study well. Thanks.
