100,000 dollars appearance fee for Black stars is outrageous
Budget for the Mundial in Qatar has just been a subject for discussion these past weeks and those in charge are not also helping matters.
Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif claims that Ghana’s budget for the 2022 World Cup is ready, revealing talks have been held for Black Stars players not to be paid more than they were paid for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Each Black Stars player received at least $100,000 in 2014, which means same amount will be given in Qatar since we’re going by the Brazil agenda.
Why spend so much on winning bonuses during qualifiers and still bloat cash before team even gets to kick a ball at the tourney.
Remember the coconut and the Afriyie Ankrah crying situations? Minister is telling us we will have to witness same precedent.
We’re currently in an almost collapsed economy and still thinking of sending all the much to Qatar for “exhibition”
A minimum of 26 players will be named for the competition and it’s as if splashing cash will be the order of the day.
Winner of Ghana premier league receives less than $20000 after touring the whole country and playing over 34 games.
Meanwhile Budget for the Black Stars World Cup campaign has been made public.
$8,166,200 million for our group stage.
$8, 792,600million if we make the Round 16.
$9.5m if we qualify for Quarter Final.
$14.1million if we reach Semifinals

Galamsey” a national security threat should be eradicated with a nationalistic mindset - KobbyChina
Illegal small scale mining which is also referred to as Galamsey in local jargons has been a cancer in the bane of subsequent governments as its eradication is proving rather stubborn. The mining industry employs close to 4 million of Ghana’s working force and as such should be treated rather delicately. Unfortunately the natural simple survival instincts of humans has positioned it in a rather tough position to eradicate.
People employed in this lucrative gold sector find it hard to let go and as such always makes it tough for law enforcement to expedite their actions in stopping the illegal mining activities.
Ghana has seen subsequent efforts from operation Vanguard, Galamstop and recently operation Halt. These joint task forces have worked assiduously at stopping these activities, but as humanly as it is, if the humanly elements are not looked at, efforts would be proven futile.
Speaking on Days TV about the recent activities by the Task force at Nzema, KobbyChina admonished the need to protect the soils and the water bodies as this is what
1. We the indigenes of Ghana use after treatment in our households
2. Livestock consume
3. It’s used to make our cocoa truly pure and rich
And hence it’s only suicidal to damage the water bodies for our own consumption and usage.
KobbyChina further explained that our cocoa is fast loosing its credibility due to the illegal operations of the mining activities going on and this is affecting our international trade, thereby, affecting our economy adversely.
The fight against Galamsey should be a collective nationalistic one and not a political one as political can only show political will but it’s success is entirely based on a nationalistic mentality to help eradicate.

How to develop lesser known sports in Ghana.
The only way to develop the lesser known sports in this country is to introduce them at the basic levels. As for the old men, you should forget us, you can't teach an old dog a new trick.
The introduction of these sports in the basic levels will automatically divide the pupils into two groups, players on one side and supporters on another side. Each pupil will develop an interest in one if not all the sports, either as a player or as a supporter.
The major source of funding for sporting activities is proceeds from gate fees.
No one will waste his or her time to go and Watch a game he has no idea of. Imagine giving me a free ticket to go and watch a cricket match. I don't know anything about cricket, and so won't waste my time on that. But you can't blame me, if it was introduced to me at an early stage, I would have loved to be involved either as a player or a spectator.
The introduction of these games at the basic school level will prepare the grounds for the commercialization of the games in the future. Good players at the basic level will grow into professional players, spectators at the basic level will grow to be supporters of professional clubs who will be willing to go to the stadium to pay and watch matches they can relate.
We can create a whole lot of employment from sports.
